The NIST TAI-1 Time Transfer Receiver is a new device designed to help timing laboratories contribute to International Atomic Time (TAI) and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). It stores data in the Common GPS GLONASS Time Transfer Standard (CGGTTS) format, which is accepted by the BIPM for these timekeeping services.
The receiver uses a 12-channel GPS receiver, a time interval counter, and a single board computer running Windows. It has a modern touchscreen interface and automates data transfer to the BIPM. It supports contributions to both the monthly UTC and weekly Rapid UTC (UTCr).
The device costs $9,900, not including calibration, installation, and training. For more information, contact NIST sales.
