High Assurance Domains | NIST

NIST is working on the High Assurance Domains (HAD) project to improve the security and reliability of critical Internet infrastructure. The project focuses on three key areas: the Domain Name System (DNS), enterprise electronic mail systems, and Zero Trust Network architecture.

The main objectives of the HAD project are to design, standardize, and promote the adoption of technologies that enhance the security, robustness, and privacy of the Internet’s DNS. NIST also aims to explore how a trustworthy global naming service can address other Internet security issues and scalable trust infrastructures.

This project is part of NIST’s broader commitment to advancing the security of the global Internet. The HAD project is just one example of the organization’s efforts to develop and deploy technologies that improve the security and reliability of critical Internet infrastructure.
