The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced the recipients of its 2022 Leadership and Service Awards, including Gordon Gillerman, Director of the Standards Coordination Office, who will receive the Astin-Polk International Standards Medal. This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to international standardization efforts and promoted trade and understanding among nations.
Gordon Gillerman has extensive experience in standards development across various critical areas, including homeland security, safety, health, and environmental protection. He is an expert in designing conformity assessment systems and has advised the U.S. Trade Representative on technical barriers to trade and related trade agreements. Throughout his career, Gillerman has collaborated with the standards community to develop solutions for national priorities.
Gordon Gillerman currently leads international standards cooperation initiatives on critical and emerging technologies for the U.S. Government, working with the US/EU Trade and Technology Council and other QUAD countries like India, Japan, and Australia. The ANSI Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony will take place during World Standards Week on October 12, 2022, in Washington, D.C., where Gillerman and other awardees will be honored for their contributions to the global standards system.
