Maicol A. Ochoa is a research scientist at NIST and the University of Maryland, with expertise in quantum and mesoscale electron transport, nanoscale thermodynamics, and single molecule dynamics. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry and chemical biology from Cornell University, where his research focused on developing models for interpreting single-molecule fluorescence trajectories in nanocatalysis. Currently, Ochoa is working with Garnett Bryant to develop tight-binding and transport models of atom-based quantum devices for quantum materials and simulators.
