Anouar Rahmouni, a physicist with expertise in quantum communications, has joined NIST’s Information Technology Laboratory. His research focuses on quantum repeaters and quantum detectors, which are crucial components for developing quantum standards. These standards will be essential for creating a quantum internet, enabling secure communication and data transfer.
Before joining NIST, Rahmouni worked on optics and photonics research at the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research (MAScIR). His experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and two-photon polymerization (TPP) will likely contribute to his current research in quantum communications and the development of quantum standards.
