Title: NIST, Google, and CU Boulder Collaborate on Quantum Computing Standardization Workshop
Summary:
NIST, Google, and the University of Colorado Boulder are working together to establish a standardized method for measuring single photon loss in superconducting microwave resonators. This testbed will be used to develop a common standard for quantum computing components.
A community workshop will be held on February 8 to kick off the project. The workshop will include plenary talks and panel discussions focusing on experimental setup, data analysis, and software. Researchers are invited to contribute recent resonator measurements that highlight issues and deviations from the ideal.
The workshop will take place at CU Boulder’s Williams Village Campus. It will feature presentations from leading researchers, followed by panel discussions on experimental setup and data analysis. The goal is to identify key issues and determine the most impactful experiments to develop a standardized measurement method for quantum computing components.
