Frequency Measurement and Analysis Service (FMAS) | NIST

NIST has developed the Frequency Measurement and Analysis Service (FMAS) to easily measure and calibrate various frequency standards. The service can measure frequencies from 1 Hz to 120 MHz with 1 Hz increments, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Up to five devices can be calibrated simultaneously, even with different frequencies, and the service references GPS signals for global accuracy.

The FMAS provides a complete frequency measurement system that is easy to install and operate. NIST personnel remotely verify and analyze data, troubleshoot any issues, and quickly replace any failed parts. The system uses GPS signals as a reference frequency, providing traceability to NIST through software-controlled receivers. Data is presented in easy-to-understand formats and is graphically displayed for clear interpretation.

The FMAS maintains a documented quality system compliant with ISO 17025 and NVLAP standards and is internationally recognized by the BIPM and included in their Key Comparison Database.
