Krister Shalm is a quantum physicist specializing in studying the quantum properties of light to develop new quantum networking technologies. He received his PhD in physics from the University of Toronto in 2010 and completed postdoctoral work at the Institute for Quantum Computing in Waterloo, Canada. In 2015, Shalm led a team that conducted one of the first experimental demonstrations of a loophole-free Bell test, a significant achievement in quantum physics. His research on entanglement has received international recognition and aims to advance the field of quantum physics and contribute to the development of new quantum technologies.
