Title: Victor V. Albert: Quantum Science Opportunities at University of Maryland
Victor V. Albert, a Lee A. DuBridge Postdoctoral Scholar in Physics at Caltech, discusses quantum science opportunities at the University of Maryland College Park (UMD) in a recent talk. UMD has a robust quantum ecosystem with seven quantum institutes (two managed by NIST), five quantum-adjacent institutes, and approximately 100 faculty members split 55/45 between theory and experimental work.
Albert organizes the UMD quantum ecosystem into subfields, providing brief descriptions of each and listing corresponding faculty. This talk aims to highlight the diverse research opportunities available in quantum science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (qSTEM) at UMD.
