Lindsay Sonderhouse is a staff physicist at NIST’s Ion Storage Group, focusing on long-range entanglement between quantum systems using trapped ions. Her research aims to develop quantum communication, computation, and sensing technologies. Sonderhouse earned her PhD in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021, working on optical atomic clocks using strontium atoms at JILA. After completing her PhD, she joined NIST as an NRC postdoctoral fellow in 2021, working on quantum networking. In 2023, she became a staff physicist and a permanent NIST Physicist in 2024.
