The agency is also investing in infrastructure and research to support quantum science and AI. The President’s FY 2025 budget request includes significant funding for NIST—$1.5 billion in total—with specific allocations for AI, quantum research, and facility upgrades. These investments aim to strengthen U.S. leadership in emerging technologies and ensure that NIST can continue to support innovation and security for decades to come.
