Dr. Jabir Marakkarakath Vadakkepurayil joined NIST in 2018 and has been working on advancing quantum technologies, particularly in the areas of scalable quantum networks and quantum-enabled classical communication. His research focuses on developing efficient entangled photon sources, analyzing phase noise in optical fibers for quantum networks, and designing resource-efficient quantum receivers. Dr. Jabir has made significant contributions to quantum communication protocols and optical quantum technologies, with an extensive publication record in leading scientific journals. Prior to joining NIST, he completed his Ph.D. in Physics at the Physical Research Laboratory in India, focusing on generating quantum entanglement using SPDC photons. He also holds an M.Sc. in Physics with a specialization in photonics and nonlinear optics from the University of Hyderabad and a B.Sc. in Physics from Farook College in India.
