NIST Announces 96 Employee Awards in December 2004
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recognized 96 of its employees with various awards in December 2004. Acting Director Hratch Semerjian and Acting Deputy Director Richard Kayser presented the awards alongside other Institute officials.

Key Award Recipients:
– 63 staff members received the Bronze Medal Award, the highest honorary recognition at NIST, for their significant contributions to the Institute’s efficiency and effectiveness across various departments.
– Paul Julienne, a NIST Fellow in the Physics Laboratory, received the Samuel Wesley Stratton Award for outstanding scientific or engineering achievements.
– Michael Kennedy, an Engineering Technician at the Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory, was recognized with the Occupational Safety and Health Award for his significant contributions to the Institute’s safety programs.

The awards covered various categories, including technical program support, measurement science advancement, written exposition, industry product improvement, applied research application, development of engineering and scientific standards, strengthening NIST-industry ties, scientific or engineering achievements, NIST extramural programs, and occupational safety and health.
