NIST and University of Colorado Establish Partnership | NIST

The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado have established a formal partnership to enhance their scientific, technical, and engineering capabilities. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, covers faculty, staff, and facilities at NIST’s Boulder and Gaithersburg, MD, sites and the entire CU system, including campuses in Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Aurora.

The University of Colorado, a three-campus system with over 52,000 students, has had a long history of collaboration with NIST, dating back to the formation of JILA, the CU-NIST research institute, 40 years ago. The partnership aims to strengthen both organizations to better promote innovation and address national needs, aligning with NIST’s mission to develop and promote measurement, standards, and technology to enhance productivity, facilitate trade, and improve the quality of life.
