NIST Physicist Honored for Technological Innovation | NIST

NIST physicist Jun Ye was honored at a symposium celebrating the 90th birthday of laser co-inventor Charles Townes. The event, held at UC Berkeley, featured presentations by 16 Nobel laureates and 50 top physicists.

Ye won first prize in the Young Scholars Competition for his paper on optical phase control, demonstrating precision measurements in ultrafast science. He leads a research group at JILA, a joint institute of NIST and the University of Colorado.

The symposium attracted over 900 attendees, providing a platform for physicists to share knowledge and ideas.
