NIST Requests Public Comments on Several Existing Cryptography Standards and Special Publications | NIST

NIST is conducting a periodic review of its existing cryptography standards and special publications. The review process is outlined on the Crypto Publication Review Project page. The following publications are currently under review:

– FIPS 197: Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
– SP 800-38A: Recommendation for Block Cipher Modes of Operation – Methods and Techniques

NIST is requesting public comments on these publications by June 11, 2021. Comments can address security, implementation, clarity, and relevance to current applications. Comments should be sent to cryptopubreviewboard[at]nist.gov with the publication number in the subject line. The publications and review process can be viewed on the NIST website.
