The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking partners to establish graduate fellowship programs in science, engineering, and mathematics. NIST will provide funding of $100,000 to $300,000 for up to three years to support doctoral-level graduate students working on research projects at NIST laboratories in Gaithersburg, MD; Charleston, SC; or Boulder, CO.
The fellowship programs will be established through cooperative agreements between NIST and participating institutions or organizations. Key activities will include planning and implementing the fellowship programs, forging links between NIST researchers and academic institutions, and conducting outreach to encourage student participation.
The application deadline is February 15, 2013, with review and award processing expected to be completed in March 2013. The earliest anticipated start date for awards is May 1, 2013.
