The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been a leader in quantum information science for over 20 years, with research achievements in quantum-based sensors and measurement. NIST’s work is part of the National Strategic Computing Initiative and is conducted through collaborations like the Joint Quantum Institute (JQI) and Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS) at the University of Maryland, College Park.
