Request for Additional Digital Signature Schemes for the Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization Process | NIST

NIST is seeking additional digital signature schemes for its Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) standardization process, which is entering its fourth round. The agency is particularly interested in general-purpose signature schemes that are not based on structured lattices, as well as schemes with short signatures and fast verification for specific applications like certificate transparency.

NIST is open to receiving additional submissions based on structured lattices, but any such proposals must significantly outperform existing candidates like CRYSTALS-Dilithium and FALCON in relevant applications and demonstrate substantial security properties to be considered for standardization. Complete submission instructions and evaluation criteria are available on the PQC: Digital Signature Schemes project page, with a deadline of June 1, 2023 for submissions.
