Three NIST scientists win prestigious PECASE awards
Three researchers from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have been honored with the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest recognition for early-career professionals in the U.S. The awards recognize their exceptional achievements and potential for leadership in scientific research.
The NIST winners are:
– Craig Brown, a chemist studying materials for energy applications at the NIST Center for Neutron Research
– Dean DeLongchamp, a chemical engineer working on organic electronic devices for flexible displays and solar cells at the NIST Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory
– Till P. Rosenband, a scientist developing future-generation quantum logic clocks in the NIST Physics Laboratory
The PECASE program was established in 1996 and is sponsored by nine federal agencies, including NIST. Winners receive five years of funding to support their research in areas critical to government missions.
