Twenty-Two NIST Boulder Employees Receive Awards | NIST

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently honored 22 employees of its Boulder Laboratories with various prestigious awards, including the NIST Bronze Medal, the highest honorary recognition given by the organization. The awards ceremony was attended by NIST Director Patrick Gallagher and hosted by NIST Boulder Laboratories Acting Director Kent Rochford.

The Bronze Medal was awarded to 15 NIST Boulder staff members for their significant contributions to advancing measurement science and technology. Notable recipients include Richard P. Mirin, Steven T. Cundiff, John M. Moreland, and Jeffrey R. Guerrieri, who were recognized for their work in semiconductor quantum dot metrology, micro-engineered contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging, and antenna measurement technology.

Other awards presented at the ceremony included the Allen V. Astin Measurement Service Award, the Crittenden Award, and the Samuel Wesley Stratton Award. These awards recognized outstanding achievements in measurement science, supporting services, and scientific/engineering achievements, respectively.

NIST, a non-regulatory agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce, promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology.
