Title: NIST to Host Webinar on 5G for Public Safety
NIST’s Public Safety Communications Research division will host a webinar on October 21st to discuss the role of 5G in public safety communications. The webinar will cover an overview of 5G’s potential benefits, security challenges, relevant use cases, and more.
The webinar will feature speakers with extensive experience in 5G and public safety communications:
– Jeff Cichonski leads NIST’s 5G cybersecurity project and has experience with 3GPP’s SA3 working group and cellular security architectures.
– Lisa Soucy leads NIST’s Advanced Communications Research Group and has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications research and new product development.
– Sam Ray serves as the portfolio lead for DHS-sponsored projects at NIST and has extensive experience in cellular/LTE infrastructure and devices.
– Richard Rouil leads a team evaluating wireless technologies like LTE and NR for public safety networks at NIST.
The webinar aims to provide valuable insights into the current state and future direction of 5G in public safety communications.
