Jeff Van Lanen is a technician at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) who has been working there since 2008. His main focus is on fabricating and assembling silicon feedhorns and waveguide interface parts for various cosmic microwave background (CMB) experiments. Over the years, he has worked on projects like ACTpol, AdvACT, Toltec, SPIDER, and Simon’s Observatory. Currently, he is responsible for making all the micromachined silicon interface parts needed to assemble the detector assemblies for Simon’s Observatory.
