NIST Revises Special Publications 800-140C and 800-140D for the CMVP | NIST

NIST has released updated versions of Special Publications 800-140C and 800-140D, which are part of the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). These publications outline the security functions and methods for generating and establishing sensitive security parameters that are allowed within the CMVP framework.

The revisions introduce new naming conventions for security functions that will be used for validation submissions and certificates. Additionally, the updates add and remove references to other standards and recommendations. For a detailed list of the changes made in each publication, readers can refer to the Document Revisions section at the end of each document.
