OWM Recognizes Contributions of Proficiency Testing Coordinators at RMAPs | NIST

The NIST OWM Laboratory Metrology program recently recognized the contributions of Proficiency Testing (PT) Coordinators at the RMAP meetings. These coordinators play a crucial role in planning, guiding, and coordinating PT efforts across regions. They facilitate the movement of test artifacts, gather calibration certificates, and provide mentorship to participants. The program operates an ISO 17043 compliant PT program that assesses metrology training and traceability to the SI through NIST. Participants include federal, commercial, and state legal metrology laboratories. At the RMAP meetings, certificates of appreciation were given to the 2023 PT coordinators, who were instrumental in the successful completion and reporting of 13 PTs across the country. The PTs covered various parameters such as mass, volume, stopwatch, and tuning fork calibrations, with a total of 9,908 evaluation points and a success rate of 99.36%.
