NIST Releases Second Drafts of Updated Cryptographic Standards
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has published second drafts of updated cryptographic standards that will support the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP). The drafts include changes to the naming conventions for validation submissions and certificates, as well as the addition of four new standards:
1. SP 800-208: Stateful Hash-Based Signature Schemes
2. SP 800-133 Rev. 2: Recommendation for Cryptographic Key Generation
3. SP 800-56C Rev. 2: Recommendation for Key-Derivation Methods in Key-Establishment Schemes
4. RFC 8446 Section 7.1: The Transport Layer Security (TLS) Protocol Version 1.3
