James A. Beall | NIST

Jim Beall is an experienced electronics engineer at NIST who has worked there for over 40 years. His research focuses on silicon micromachined waveguide structures and superconducting microdevice fabrication. Beall has led the design and fabrication of various microwave detector arrays and clean room facilities at NIST. He has also managed the procurement and installation of large fabrication tools. Beall’s earlier work includes superconducting digital logic circuits, SQUIDs, tunable microwave devices, micromachined ion traps, TES detectors, and photovoltaic devices. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Brown University and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado.
