The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST) welcomed eight new staff members in July 2009. These new hires bring diverse expertise in nanotechnology, materials science, and instrumentation to the CNST.
Key hires include:
– C. Stephen Hellberg, a visiting fellow specializing in quantum dot behavior in nanophotonic resonators
– Renu Sharma, a pioneer in environmental cell transmission electron microscopy (E-STEM) establishing advanced TEM capabilities
– Maxim Abashin, a postdoctoral researcher working on nanophotonic measurement methods
– Alec Talin, leading projects on fundamental measurements of nanostructured materials in energy storage
– Shaffique Adam, a theoretical physics postdoc studying graphene and nanostructures
– Glenn Holland, an instrumentation specialist assisting with experiment design
– Matt Gonzales, an administrative support assistant
– Charles Yeh, a high school student intern in the energy research group
These new staff members will contribute to the CNST’s mission of advancing nanotechnology research and development through cutting-edge scientific and technical expertise.
