Dr. Angela Hight Walker, a distinguished senior scientist at NIST, has been elected as a 2023 AAAS Fellow for her pioneering work in optical spectroscopies and leadership in quantum materials research. Over three decades, she has led a research team that has published over 175 papers in physics, chemistry, and materials science, focusing on low-dimensional materials. Dr. Hight Walker is also a key figure in international nanotechnology standardization efforts, contributing to ISO Technical Committee 229 and VAMAS committees. She has mentored over 50 students and postdoctoral researchers, many from underrepresented groups, and is committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity in science.
