Five NIST staff members have been recognized with 2006 Presidential Rank Awards for their exceptional public service contributions. The awards, given in two categories – Distinguished and Meritorious – honor senior government executives for their long-term accomplishments.
This year’s Distinguished category honorees from NIST include:
– Katharine B. Gebbie, Director of the NIST Physics Laboratory
– W. Todd Grams, NIST Chief Financial Officer
– Robert J. Celotta, NIST Fellow and leader of the Electron Physics Group
James E. Faller, a Senior Research Scientist from NIST’s Quantum Physics Division, was recognized in the Meritorious category. The awards are nominated by agency heads, evaluated by independent boards, and approved by the President, with criteria focusing on leadership and measurable results.
