Alan Migdall, a researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has dedicated over three decades to advancing quantum optics. His work focuses on developing single-photon sources, detectors, processors, and quantum memory for applications in quantum cryptography and computation. Migdall leads the Quantum Optics Group at NIST and has organized numerous conferences and workshops on single-photon technologies.
