JILA physicist Konrad Lehnert is a finalist for the prestigious 2007 Service to America Medal, recognizing his groundbreaking research using quantum mechanics to advance measurement science. At just 36 years old, Lehnert’s work has the potential to significantly impact the field of measurement science. The medal recipients will be announced next month and honored at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. This is the fourth time a NIST physicist has been recognized with this prestigious award since its inception in 2002.
