Dr. Csilla Szabo-Foster is a physicist at NIST specializing in dosimetry calibration services for medical devices. With over 20 years of experience in X-ray physics, she uses high-resolution spectroscopy to calibrate low dose rate brachytherapy seeds and beta emitting sources. Dr. Szabo-Foster led the modernization of NIST’s Vacuum Double Crystal Spectrometer lab and is currently working on upgrading the data acquisition system for brachytherapy source calibrations. She is a member of the AAPM and holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Debrecen, Hungary.
