Physicist or Engineer Position Anticipated (Applied Electrical Measurements Group) | NIST

NIST’s Applied Electrical Measurements (AEM) group is seeking a physicist or engineer to support the development of new DC power and energy measurement capabilities. This is in response to the growing need for accurate and traceable measurements in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging market.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or physics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The position will be located in Gaithersburg, Maryland and will be at the ZP-III or ZP-IV level (GS 10-14 equivalent) depending on the candidate’s education and experience.

This hire will be crucial in supporting NIST’s mission to provide the nation with the highest quality measurement standards, particularly in the area of DC fast charging for EVs. The position will play a key role in developing the necessary measurement capabilities to ensure fair and accurate electricity sales in the growing EV charging market.
