Title: NIST Releases Superconducting Optoelectronics Process Design Kit
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has released a new Process Design Kit (PDK) for superconducting optoelectronics, called OLMAC. This technology package, provided in klayout format, combines three key areas: superconducting electronics, active optoelectronics, and passive optics.
Superconducting electronics in the PDK include Single-Photon Detectors (SNSPDs) and three-terminal devices. Active optoelectronics include Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and modulators. Passive optics include waveguides and resonators.
The OLMAC PDK is developed by a team of experts led by Sonia Buckley, Adam McCaughan, Jeff Chiles, Alex Tait, Saeed Khan, Jeff Shainline, Rich Mirin, and Sae Woo Nam. All documentation and guides can be found at https://pages.nist.gov/SOEN-PDK/index.html, while the source code is available at https://github.com/usnistgov/SOEN-PDK.
