Finnish-led international 6G technology cooperation expands to Singapore

The 6G Flagship, a Finnish research program coordinated by the University of Oulu, has established a formal collaboration with Singapore to advance 6G technology development and contribute to global standardization. This partnership, announced at the Asia Tech x Singapore event, aligns with Singapore’s newly launched national Future Communications Research & Development Programme, which includes a S$70 million investment to build a resilient digital economy. The joint effort will be implemented by the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) to strengthen the 5G ecosystem and accelerate the translation of future communication technologies. Both parties view this international cooperation as vital for competing in the global 6G race and achieving mutual technical benefits.
