6G Test Centre’s Business Clients Develop Products for Defence Industry

The University of Oulu’s 6G Test Centre has successfully supported four partner companies—Scaleout, Wayren, Microamp, and Winse Power—through the NATO DIANA Challenge to develop dual-use products for the defence industry. The centre’s modular hybrid network, which combines independently operated tactical and commercial systems, enables flexible low-latency testing in diverse environments including extreme Arctic conditions. This collaboration allows companies to validate and refine their solutions, significantly enhancing their export potential and strengthening Finland’s role within the NATO innovation ecosystem. Researchers note that the unique testing capabilities have served as a catalyst for new domestic and international R&D projects while providing critical insights into system resilience.
