Finland has renewed its commitment to the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) roadmap, securing funding for 2025 to support advanced facilities in 6G, quantum computing, and artificial intelligence. This participation grants Finnish researchers and industry partners access to pan-European testbeds and high-performance computing clusters, enabling large-scale experiments in higher frequency bands and AI-driven network optimization. The University of Oulu’s 6G Test Network will leverage these resources to accelerate the transition from laboratory prototypes to real-world applications, while industry players gain early exposure to breakthroughs for testing next-generation technologies. Ultimately, this strengthened collaboration aims to position Finland competitively in the global market and contribute directly to the development of international 6G standards.
