Mariella Särestöniemi, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oulu, received the 2024 eHealth Award for her cross-disciplinary research combining medicine with wireless radio technologies to improve diagnostics and healthcare access in remote areas. Janne Lahtiranta, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Turku, was also honored for his work on health technology test platforms and synthetic health data. These awards were presented during the eHealth2024 conference in Tampere to recognize exceptional contributions to telemedicine and eHealth innovation. The Finnish Society for Telemedicine and eHealth aims to inspire continued impactful work in the field through these recognitions.
