Key technologies enabling this vision include edge intelligence for low-latency processing, 5G and 6G networks for ultra-reliable communication, and AI-driven semantic embeddings to compress volumetric data and optimize bandwidth. Despite advancements in standards like OpenXR and One Data Model, significant barriers remain regarding proprietary data silos and the high energy demands of real-time 3D rendering. Ultimately, realizing this future demands a unified system that seamlessly integrates digital twins, ensures secure data governance, and balances digital expansion with sustainability goals.
