The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) has released its 2026 Research & Innovation Work Programme, allocating €22 million in EU funding to support five selected projects that bridge the transition toward the final phase of the initiative. This programme focuses on three strategic pillars: consolidating previous results, establishing groundwork for future industrial capabilities like 6G devices and AI integration, and enhancing global positioning through standards and collaboration with India. Funding will be distributed across three streams, including dataset validation for AI models, experimental infrastructure development, and operations optimization. The sixth call for proposals under this programme opens on January 29, 2026, with a submission deadline of April 29, 2026.
