The 2025 3GPP Excellence Awards recognized four individuals for their leadership in key technical areas during the February working group meetings. Eko Onggosanusi of Samsung received the award for his decade-long role as MIMO Rapporteur and his skill in moderating RAN1 discussions on multi-antenna operations. Sung Won of Nokia was honored for his instrumental leadership in completing Release 19, specifically regarding mission-critical services and IMS protocol alignment. Jan Reimes of HEAD Acoustics was recognized for driving the completion of immersive audio test methods, while Arne Marquordt of Comprion was acknowledged for his extensive work on UICC and USIM test specifications.
