Accelleran has advanced Open RAN and 6G innovation by integrating its dRAX components into major European projects like 5GUARDS and 5GRuralFirst, delivering cloud-native solutions with AI-driven optimization. Cogninn secured selection for the IPCEI ME/CT funding program to develop virtualized edge RAN technologies for 6G, while Cumucore deployed a 5G multi-hop maritime solution to extend vessel connectivity beyond shore. Montimage and Nextworks have furthered network security and research capabilities through their MMT framework and the open XONET testbed, respectively, enabling advanced 5G/6G validation and AI-driven cyber defense. Concurrently, companies like Ubiwhere and Fivecomm are driving next-generation connectivity through AI-native cloud architectures and high-performance modems for drones and IoT applications. These collective efforts across the EU R&I ecosystem are accelerating the deployment of intelligent, secure, and energy-efficient networks for verticals ranging from smart cities to industrial automation.
