The SNS JU and its affiliated projects are advancing 6G research through a series of webinars and open calls focused on sustainability, vertical trials, and network digital twins. Key initiatives include the 6G-VERSUS project’s work on sustainability trials, the 6G-TWIN project’s exploration of network digital twins for simulation, and the ENVELOPE project’s focus on open mobility architectures. Standardization efforts are highlighted through IEEE 802.11bp and 3GPP Release 19/20 frameworks for ambient-enabled communication, while security and trust are addressed by projects like ACROSS, NANCY, and RIGOROUS. Additionally, the ecosystem supports innovation via multiple open calls from projects such as 6G-PATH, 6G-SANDBOX, and TARGET-X, which provide funding for third-party experiments and use-case development.
