ETSI launches Cloud Standards Coordination – ETSI

By 2015, the global cloud market is projected to reach between €50bn and €80bn, though widespread adoption is currently hindered by a lack of standardized protocols for security, interoperability, and data portability. In response, the European Commission has tasked ETSI with coordinating a detailed map of required standards to address these specific barriers. To facilitate this, ETSI is launching a Cloud Standards Coordination event in Cannes featuring brainstorming sessions with over 750 member organizations to define technical specifications for cloud services. This initiative leverages ETSI’s existing technical committees and global network to establish a unified framework that supports the disruptive yet beneficial growth of cloud computing.
