The oneM2M global partnership has released its initial Candidate Release of Technical Specifications for public comment, establishing a foundation for scalable and interoperable M2M and IoT service layers. This release aims to enable broad cross-industry deployment while ensuring compatibility with existing standards, with the public comment period concluding on November 1, 2014. The updated specifications are scheduled for final approval by the oneM2M Technical Plenary in January 2015 for publication by its seven partner standards organizations. These standards are designed to support diverse applications including smart grids, connected cars, home automation, and public safety systems.
