Global standards collaboration for a smarter, safer world – ETSI

GSC-19 reaffirmed its commitment to harmonized standards for critical communications, including public safety systems, large-scale warning networks, and emergency calling services. The meeting also established a collaborative framework to advance IoT technologies by leveraging existing initiatives like oneM2M to improve market access across various industry sectors. Participants emphasized the necessity of a unified ecosystem approach for 5G development, stressing that strong collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to meet standardization timelines. The next GSC meeting is scheduled for April 2016 in India, where ISO and IEC will join as new members.
