On the third anniversary of the ETSI NFV ISG, Don Clarke highlighted the rapid delivery of 23 specifications and nearly 40 completed or ongoing Proof of Concepts as foundational achievements for the global industry. The organization is now prioritizing collaborative efforts with open source communities and other Standards Development Organizations to address security challenges and foster innovation in an open ecosystem. Diego Lopez emphasized the growing integration of NFV and SDN, noting that recent demonstrations in Düsseldorf successfully showcased complex virtualized architectures including full ISO 7-layer stacks and VoLTE services. With Release 2015 nearing completion and 35 new work items planned for publication by Q1 2016, the ISG is focusing on defining stage 3 standardization approaches and strengthening interoperability across the network virtualization landscape.
