The ETSI Open Source MANO group has announced OSM Release TWO, a new open source management and orchestration stack designed to improve interoperability, scalability, and hybrid cloud support for network operators. Key enhancements include SDN assistance for traffic-intensive virtual network functions, a new Amazon Web Services plugin for hybrid deployments, and extended support for ONOS alongside existing SDN controllers. This release also introduces dynamic network services for on-demand resource scaling and multiple installer options to simplify deployment across various environments. These updates aim to automate key operator use cases and fully implement ETSI NFV performance best practices without requiring special hardware or manual intervention.
