ETSI Multi-access Edge Computing group releases a first package of APIs – ETSI

ETSI has released five Group Specifications covering general API principles, application lifecycle management, platform enablement, and specific Radio Network Information and Location APIs for Mobile Edge Computing. These standards establish a generic framework to expose network information to authorized third-party applications, ensuring interoperability and consistent design patterns across the industry. The release includes the Radio Network Information Service for real-time radio condition data and the Location Service, which leverages existing Zonal Presence specifications. This work aims to accelerate third-party application development and help operators capitalize on their network investments through standardized, open interfaces.
